I-CON 31 Indie Films Will Be Joined By Award Winning Web Series Pioneer One

I-CON 31 is proud to announce that we'll be joined by the team from Pioneer One, an innovative dramatic Sci-Fi series independently written and produced in New York City and distributed exclusively online.

With over 7,000,000 downloads to date, and winner for Best Drama Pilot at the 2010 New York Television Festival, the series has quickly generated an international cult following. Pioneer one has just completed its first season which consists of six, full-length episodes available at Pioneerone.tv

Josh Bernhard Pioneer One's writer and executive producer (left) wanted to be a filmmaker from a very young age growing up on Long Island, New York. After majoring in Cinema at Binghamton University, Josh wrote and directed his first feature film, the "no-budget" indie The Lionshare. After the experience of making a film, he decided to follow his other passion, which was to write for television. Pioneer One was the result, a new kind of independent television, and he and his cohorts haven't looked back.

Bracey Smith Pioneer One's director and executive producer (right) is a Binghamton University graduate and a self taught visual effects artist. One of Bracey's greatest fears is failing at something because he was too afraid to try. He fell into directing early on and promotes artistic discovery through trial and error.

Jack-headshot

Jack Haley (Dr. Zachary Walzer) In addition to Pioneer One, Jack has worked extensively in theatre and on television shows including 30 RockLaw & Order: SVU and Boardwalk Empire, and will be appearing in upcoming films Great Hope Springs (with Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones) and the short film Migraine (by director Matthew Bonifacio). Although he's primarily an actor and an artist, he does have a layperson's passion for science, and wouldn't mind going to Mars himself, given the opportunity.

Guy-headshot

Guy Wegener (Glenn Vernon) has performed in numerous theatrical productions in New York and his native Minnesota. He started out performing with The Children's Theatre Company of Minneapolis at a very young age, and with a little nudge of encouragement from his family, he made his way to New York over a decade ago. Since then he has performed in Cameron Macintosh's OLIVER! (1st National Tour), The Deep Throat Sex Scandal (Off-Broadway) and many other productions. He also worked on the Broadway productions of Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, and Kat and the Kings. His dream is to one day act in his favorite television show, Doctor Who
